how would you describe ccopc?
CCOPC is a body of sinful, struggling believers without hope apart from Christ. But we believe God makes us, in Christ, whole, beautiful, and fully equipped for all the good works to which He calls us. By grace we make every effort to see one another in Christ and treasure one another because God treasures us. Absolutely lost, absolutely redeemed, absolutely committed to learning to walk with Christ, we are absolutely hopeful that He will complete His good work in us.
We are made up of married couples, singles, large families, and small families. Some of us are a few days old and some are over eighty years old.
Most of us live in the Sheridan, Indiana area, but our congregation contains a number of folks from points as distant as Jamestown and Kokomo.
Visiting a church for the first time can be a daunting experience. Come as you are. We meet to hear the Bible taught, sing great hymns, pray to and hear from our God. All are welcome!

are instruments used in the worship service?
Our singing of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs is generally accompanied by a piano.
may i take communion?
If you're visiting with us you may wonder whether or not you should receive the sacrament of Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper). We don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable in partaking. We also don't want anyone to partake merely as a form or ritual or just to be sociable. In fact, the Bible says it is dangerous to do so. This isn't our table. It's not the table of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. It's the Lord's table. Therefore, we try to follow His instructions as nearly as we can. In light of His instructions, and in the name of Jesus Christ, we invite you to commune with us if each of the following is true:
- You have, by faith, received Christ as Savior and are trusting in Him alone for your salvation.
- You have been baptized (either as an infant or as an adult) in the name of the Triune God, thus having been marked out as belonging to Christ.
- You are not presently living a life of unrepentant sin.
- You are a member, in good standing, of a local church that proclaims the gospel.
what should i wear?
We wear a variety of clothes. Some dress very casually, others dress up a bit more. You need not worry about what you wear! Wear what you have and are comfortable in. We turn no one away because they violate any “dress code”!
may my children attend the worship service?
Absolutely! We welcome children of all ages into the worship service, and we are prepared to hear the occasional "joyful noise" from the little ones!
We encourage you to train your children to not simply sit still through the service, but to actually engage the service as much as possible. That's one of the advantages of a liturgical pattern of worship -- there is enough repetition in the responses and service music that even pre-literate children can be taught rapidly how to participate, at least in bits and pieces. They also quickly learn to enjoy the bodily gestures and postures we use, learning when to sit, stand, kneel, raise their hands, and shout "Amen!"

do you have a mission statement?
"We exist to reflect the glory of God in our passion for, devotion to, and exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ."
I don’t believe… may I come anyway?
You do not need to have any prior church experience, or any special knowledge of the Bible or Jesus Christ to visit us. We warmly welcome you and hope to walk with you as you seek real answers to the hard questions of life. You will not shock us. We have also struggled deeply, but we have found real hope and help in Jesus.
