nazomi center
On March 11 2011, northeastern Japan experienced a 9.0 earthquake followed by a historic tsunami. The small coastal town of Yamamoto was severely damaged and, in particular, this building (a dental office at the time) was hit by a 2 m wall of tsunami water destroying the entire first floor. The dentist escaped to the second floor of the building but all his dental equipment was destroyed. Rather than selling the land to the government, he chose to sell the land and the remained building for use as a relief center to a coalition of three mission organizations (CRC, OPC and Kosin) and the Reformed Church of Japan.
The building was wrecked by the tsunami, but out of the rubble God provided a beautiful building to serve the needs of the community. Teams of volunteer carpenters from USA cleaned and remodeled the building to become a functional care center. Since the opening in May 2012, volunteers and staff have served at the near by temporary housing units providing emotional care.
The center is open for all ages to find listening ears and caring hearts. It is a place to develop friendships. It’s also a place where God’s love and grace, the source of true hope, can be felt and experienced. Nozomi Center is a place for His people to express the love of Lord Jesus Christ in word and deed. Christ Covenant directly supports this hope-filled outreach effort through prayer, finances and “boots on the ground”.

overcomers ministry
Overcomers is a Christ centered ministry based on the firm belief that true change must come from within, and that it takes God Himself to orchestrate that change. To that end, Overcomers meets for practical Biblical instruction on overcoming addictions, and to pray for and encourage each participant in a small group setting. Overcomers meets locally and welcomes all who are heavy-laden and seek rest in Jesus.

committee on foreign missions
The foreign missions work of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church is conducted through its Committee on Foreign Missions (composed of nine ministers and six ruling elders elected by the general assembly) as a part of the Church’s total Worldwide Outreach program. Realizing that God upholds, directs, and disposes all things by his most wise and holy providence, we are committed to pursue the opportunities he presents to us to further the proclamation of the gospel to the nations, always bearing in mind that ultimately he is the one who provides the clear and focused opportunity, the necessary personnel, and the required support.
