Our Dear Old Friend

Praise to the Lord Who does all things well. How thankful we can be that we belong to the Sovereign God of Providence. How thankful we can be that He gave us a glorious last Lord's day in His house. How thankful we can be that we said good-bye to our old friend with an evening of singing hymns, purposeful prayer and the celebration of life. That old, drafty building filled with beauty and character certainly served her purpose well and now our Lord leads His dear children along. Who knows save the Lord all the good He is working through this fire, and removal of our dear old friend. We look forward to what our good and kind God will do next. Belonging to Him truly is an adventure. The Holy Spirit is so gracious to flood our minds with encouragement in times like this. One of the first hymns that came to mind was "The Church's One Foundation" and then "God Leads Us Along." Do you remember that Hymn? God leads His dear children along...

Some through the waters, some through the flood,
Some through the fire but all through the blood;
Some through great sorrow but God gives a song,
In the night season and all the day long.

He is ever leading us forward as we make our plans and HE directs our steps. May we at CCOPC continue to walk in His plans which He has foreordained.

"The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away.
Blessed be the name of the LORD."
Job 1:21b
